Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, July 19, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Kevin Jude LaPorte, 57, who passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at his home.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Friday from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 PM on Friday.
Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be his nieces, Ashley Stelly and Brandi Patin. Gift bearers will be Jaide Leger and Dawn Marks.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Kevin was born on October 17, 1966. Kevin adored his jeep and worked as a truck driver as his career. He married his soulmate on July 9, 2024, after eight years of being together. Their paths intertwined after a significant time apart. Kevin enjoyed outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, playing video games and watching M.A.S.H. and WWE. He loved watching football, especially his favorites, LSU and Saints. Most important to him was spending quality time with his cherished family and loyal childhood friends. Throughout his entire life, he lived by the motto, "Go Big or Go Home!". He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Tracie Guilbeau LaPorte; mother, Shirley Courville Ryder; sisters, Sharon LaPorte (Rod) and Beverly Kilgo; step-daughter, Jaide Leger (Jules); in-laws, Larry and Vicki Guilbeau; brother-in-law, Todd Guilbeau (Candy); nieces and nephews, Brandi Patin (Bo), Ashley Stelly (Matt), Grant Guilbeau, Gavin Guilbeau (Amelie), Gage Guilbeau, and Garron Guilbeau; and great nieces and nephews, Arlei Patin, Mason Patin, Cane Stelly and Austyn Stelly.
He is preceded in death by his father, Abel LaPorte; brothers-in-law, Wade Kilgo and Michael Fitzgerald; maternal grandparents, Clay and Lednee Courville; and his paternal grandparents, Joseph C. and Lydia Roy LaPorte.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Latiolais, Kip Collette, Brian Landry, Paul Courville, Joey Brasseaux, Coby Kirk, and Randy Moffett.
Honorary pallbearer will be Harold Artigue.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
