Kevin Samuel Lawson

Kevin Samual Lawson, age 71, passed away on November 6,2025 at Elizabethtown Community Hospital.

Kevin was born on August 28,1954 in Newburgh, NY to George William Lawson and Ida May Jollie. He grew up in New Paltz, NY where he graduated from New Paltz High School. After high school he went to NY Restaurant School in Manhattan.

He married Janice Koenig and had two boys, Sam and Charlie. He then remarried to Cindy Dickerson (Sherman) and had a son Nashden.

Kevin enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting. He also loved working with his backhoe, spending time with his sons, visiting with friends and listening to the Rolling Stones.

He will be remembered for his culinary skills. Also, his kind and loving heart. He would have done anything for anybody.

He is survived by his children Samual Lawson of Seward, Alaska, Charlie Lawson and partner Krista Kennedy of Essex, NY, and Nashden Dickerson and partner Ashley Hernandez of North Carolina; three grandkids Charlie, Henry, and Ingrid; his siblings, George Lawson, Jr., Judith (Charles) Mocera, Janice Moon, Cheryl (Dale) Helmrich, and Delora (Dale) Corley.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a Celebration of Life on December 7th from 3:00 to 5:00 at the Wooden Nickel.
