Kevin James "Poop" McCourt:
Kevin McCourt passed away on Thursday August 8, 2024 at his home in Flanders. Mr. McCourt was born and raised in New Brunswick. He spoke frequently about his years playing Pop Warner football and the cast of characters that came from New Brunswick (none of which went by their actual names). Kevin graduated St. Peter's High School in 1970 and would continue his education at Belmont Abbey College; later earning a bachelor's degree from Trenton State College. He resided in Edison for many years where he raised his family and volunteered as a coach with Edison Boys Baseball. Kevin was proud of his lengthy career in mortgage banking, ultimately retiring in 2017. Kevin had a wonderful sense of humor; always doing his best to make people laugh. He was a devoted Notre Dame Football fan and a New York Yankees Baseball fan. He belonged to the New Brunswick Elks for many years and enjoyed playing a round of golf and reading. He was a huge Bruce Springsteen fan and was fortunate enough to see him many times including the early days at the Stone Pony. He was predeceased by his parents James (Big Poop) and Josephine McCourt. He is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, MaryAnn McCourt, his sons James McCourt and his wife Pamela and Matthew McCourt and his wife Ruma, stepdaughters Dena Keogh, Jacqueline Frey and Kimberly Frey, sister Maureen Morris, her husband Billy, and their children Ryan and Scott, and his grandchildren Grayson and Miles McCourt and Jackson and Zachary Keogh.
