Kevin passed away on June 17th after a ten month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Kevin was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on April 21, 1958. He was predeceased by his parents Ernest Moorehead and Joan Moorehead and his brother Michael. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Temple and children, Ismael, Keria "Nani" and Eden (Loys) as well as siblings Steve, Paula and Bryan. He is also survived by grandsons Isaiah and Amari who were the light of his life.
Kevin served twenty years in the Navy as a Torpedoman and was stationed in Norfolk, Yorktown, Charleston and Orlando. After retiring from the Navy, Kevin became an electrician, reaching the master level. He worked for various electrical companies on the Peninsula and taught future electricians at New Horizons. Kevin was active in dog training clubs in several states, teaching classes and holding positions.
Kevin was a very active member of Warwick Memorial United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, served as trustee and participated in Red Bird Mission trips, Men's Fraternity and Living Word Drama Ministry and played the dulcimer during services.
The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Virginia Oncology at Port Warwick, Heartland Hospice and Hospice House of Williamsburg for their excellent care during his illness.
Kevin's Memorial Service will be held July 12 at 11am at Warwick Memorial UMC, 38 Hoopes Road, Newport News. Reception will follow service.
