Judith Moorehead Obituary
Judy was a graduate of Central Maine Medical School of Nursing Class of 1979 and enjoyed a rewarding career as a registered nurse in Maine and Rhode Island. She was an ICU/CCU nurse at Roger Williams Hospital and Pawtucket Memorial Hospital and also a hospice nurse at Nursing Placement. She then went on to become the Director of Nursing at Atria Bay Spring and Tockwotton on the Waterfront.
Judy welcomed her nephew Charlie who she loved dearly into her home after his mother's passing. She then guided him through his senior year of high school and then onto the Marine Corp.
Judy was a Godmother and confirmation sponsor; she was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Peter's Church in Warwick and created beautiful gardens on their premises.
Judy created a beautiful cozy home with many beloved animals. She loved to garden, cook, craft and entertain. She had a great sense of humor and was so much fun to be with. Judy also loved the ocean, especially the coast of Maine. She was a strong leader, a true nurse at heart, always compassionate and finding ways to meet people's needs generously.
Judy made many friends throughout her life who will endeavor to carry on what we have learned from her.
Judy survived by her brother Michael and his wife Karen, she was the aunt of Jesse, Shane, and Kasey Moorehead and Charlie Riley as well as a host of children she considered her nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Margaret Riley.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday July 3, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter's Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Visitation will be held Wednesday July 2, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
