Kevin Joseph Schranz; age 26, of Clarendon Hills, IL. Passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023, with his loving family at his side. Beloved son of Paul "P.J." and Vicki (Homer) Schranz; loving brother of Luke Schranz; cherished grandson of Don and Cherril (Barger) Homer, and the late Paul and Cathy (Cassady) Schranz; dear nephew of Caren (Karen Rittwage) Schranz and Brad Homer; fond cousin of Ryan Homer; reunited with his loving dog Scooter. Kevin will be missed by his family, friends and all whom he touched in life.
Kevin was our sunshine, he was the twinkle in the night sky. He touched lives in every direction and warmed hearts that needed a hug. He would stop on the sidewalk to assist the homeless and he was always the first to offer help to persons in need. His generosity and giving spirit was lightyears beyond his age.
Kevin's greatest stories involved adventures out west collecting rocks, fishing and camping under the stars with his "Best brother ever Luke," as well as the laughs and good times with his best friend Mac.
Some of his best times included meeting his aunts in the city for a fun dinner and the sharing of great food creations between him and his uncle. Kevin loved life to its fullest through so many warm memories of outings in Oregon, IL with his grandparents and memories from the past of wonderful Italian meals with his Nana and Papa in Crete. And when Kevin would come home, the house was ignited with loving energy and laughter and conversations that would flow late into the night.
Kevin was kind hearted to all that he knew, loving and generous with a great sense of humor. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Illini fan. He had a deep love for all animals, especially his dog Scooter and his tortoise Franklin. Kevin loved everything about life. He enjoyed his accounting position at Arabella Advisors and found joy in tutoring a student from Eritrea and mentoring young adults at Malcolm X College. He spoke endlessly about walking and dog sitting Boomer and Stitch. Kevin excelled at playing sports, particularly baseball which he also coached. Working out, running on the lakefront and playing basketball all brought him happiness. Kevin brought delight to his family and friends by preparing his famous homemade garlic knots and breads.
What seemed to bring Kevin the most joy was doing nice things for others. When birthdays came along, the gift had to be 'just right' and his homemade cards filled with paragraphs of heartfelt words and warm thoughts. When he would call home, he would always ask, "How was your day?" and sincerely wanted to know before ever talking about himself. His heart was even bigger than his smile.
Kevin left a lasting impression everywhere he ventured and with all that he met. Our hearts will be forever richer because of the time spent with him while here on earth.

P.J. And Family, Irene and I were very sadden to hear from Jim Garzelloni of your son, Kevin, passing away.. We know this is very difficult time for all of you. We hope your faith and good memories of Kevin carry you through this devastating time. On reading the testimonies, Kevin sounds like a chip off the Schranz block. Although it’s been many years since having contact with you, Irene and I have many fine memories of your parents and you. Please accept our sincere condolences. Coach Mike Pohlman and Irene

I met Kevin in college as I took my chances with getting matched up with random roommates that year and couldn´t get luckier. He was one of the funniest people I´ve met along with always being so interested in you that he made you feel special every time you talked to him. So grateful to have experienced him being a part of my life.
