Kevin Lee Sheffield

Kevin Lee Sheffield, 63, passed away peacefully Friday, September 26, 2025, at UAB. He was born June 21, 1962 to the late Bobby Gene Sheffield and the late Sybil Powell Sheffield. He attended Friendship Baptist Church. He worked at Goodyear Tire for 17 years of service. Kevin was a kind hearted man and the love for his family was evident in everything he did. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He faithfully supported them in their sporting events and loved making memories with them on special vacations. His hobby was cars and especially drag racing. He earned the nickname "Transmission Man" because of his ability to teardown and rebuild transmissions as well as engines. Until a near death experience with Covid in 2021, you could often find him tinkering in the garage.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Tuesday September 30, 2025, at Senter Funeral Directors with Bro. Mark Tutor officiating. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 Monday, Sept. 29 at Senter Funeral Directors. Burial will be at Keyes Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Christy Sheffield of Mantachie; sons: Nathan (Christa) Sheffield, Jordan (Brandi) Sheffield; grandchildren: Aisley Sheffield, Weston Sheffield; step-grandchild, Rylee, Ryder, and Christian Ballard; sister-in-law, Patti Sheffield; brother-in-law, Vince (Kim) Stanley; host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Charlotte Sheffield; brother, Brad Sheffield; and an infant brother and sister
Pallbearers are Vince Stanley, Ray McCollum, Don Tyra, Anthony Upton, Leonard Stultz, Luke Stanley
