Kevin J. Stanke, Age 63, was taken from this world all too soon on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Visitation will be held at 12PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 4PM on Sunday, April 6 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek.
Kevin, a talented barber, devoted traveler, and cherished friend, was a man of many passions, Kevin embraced life with creativity, generosity, and an adventurous spirit.
As a young man, Kevin pursued his passion for hairstyling opening his own salon, Cut-Ups in Fenton. Over the years, Kevin worked at several salons, most recently at Exhale Salon, where his exceptional skill and warm presence made a lasting impact on clients and colleagues alike.
Kevin’s adventurous nature led him to live in Nepal, a transformative experience that deepened his love for culture and exploration. He found peace and adventure trekking on Isle Royale and the Manitou Islands alongside his brother Korry, along with other family and friends, while simultaneously expanding his already extensive knowledge and appreciation of horticulture. Kevin was a devoted symphony attendee at The Whiting in Flint.
Kevin’s generosity was evident in his volunteer work at the local Hindu temple, where he offered haircuts for ceremonies and contributed his artistic skills to ornate painting projects. He appreciated classic cars, volunteering at the Sloan museum in Flint. His kindness and beautiful spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
Kevin is survived by his father, James H. Stanke; partner, JD; brothers, Korry (Donna) Stanke and Keith Stanke; nieces and nephews, Ashley (Jacob) Soldan, Justin Stanke, Jason Milloway, Camilla Stanke, Gregory (Sydney) Stanke, Megan (Chaz) Crutts, Krystal Stanke and Rebecca Stanke. Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Carol M. Stanke.
Kevin's memory will be cherished by his family, friends, clients and the countless lives he touched. Kevin would not have been the person he was without all of you. Thank You for Loving our Beloved Kevin.
