Kevin "Hootie" Eugene Stolt, age 63 of Nicollet, passed away peacefully on October 27th, 2025 with family by his side.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2-6pm on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH chapel, in New Ulm. Following the visitation, a celebration of Hootie's life will continue at the Cabin Bar in Nicollet.

Kevin "Hootie" Stolt was born February 8th, 1962, in
New Ulm, Minnesota to Elton and Esther (Enter) Stolt. The youngest of 7, he was lovingly known as the baby of the family. Growing up in Nicollet, Kevin attended Nicollet high school. He graduated with the class of 1980 while also working for his father at Stolt Construction (later taken over by his brother John). In 1986 Kevin began working at Cotter and Company in Mankato. After his son was born, he found a new career with the Nicollet County Sheriff's Department in 1991. In 2005, Kevin celebrated two major milestones by marrying his bride, Michelle (Johnson), as well as starting a new adventure with Nicollet County as the Sentence to Service Coordinator. He retired from Nicollet County in 2024.
Kevin's hobbies included cooking, baking, and making Christmas treats, all of which he loved to share with friends and family. In the summer months you could find him at the lake fishing, shaking dice and playing cards. In the fall, you could find him at deer camp. He was a lifelong fan of Minnesota sports. Kevin and Michelle enjoyed many tropical vacations, sharing sun, sand and many memories. Loved by all who knew him, he could always be relied on to lend a helping hand. Kevin was blessed with a unique sense of humor making him the life of the party and the source of a good laugh!
Kevin is survived by his beloved wife Michelle; son Steven (Lauren); grandchildren, Anthony, Hailie, Emma and Brantley; sister, Janet (Wally) Lind; brother, Gene (Joann) Stolt; brother, John Stolt (Cindi Trisco); sister, Donna (Larry) Luepke; brother-in-law, Dave Boerger; sister-in-law, Tammejo (Tim) Blaha; father-in-law, Steve Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Preceded in death by parents, Elton "Dick" and Esther Stolt; mother-in-law, Mary Johnson; sister, Marilyn Boerger (Stolt); brother, Rick Stolt; sister-in-law, Lucille Stolt (Evans) and many other dear family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to be directed to the Nicollet Fireman's Relief Association or the Nicollet Conservation Club.
