Kevin Vongsavath Obituary
Kevin “KG” Vongsavath, 39, loving dad, son, and brother, passed away on May 3, 2024, at UW Madison Hospital. He was born on August 2, 1984, in Rockford, the son of Bounkong and Vilay (Baythongdy) Vongsavath. Kevin was an avid sports fan; watching football, especially the Chicago Bears and Atlanta Falcons. He had a love for watching and playing basketball, and looked up to Kevin Garnet, Allen Iverson, and Penny Hardaway. Kevin had a passion for working out, listening to music, drawing and cooking, specially making his famous seafood gumbo. He was an ambitious, caring, and thoughful father, son, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Vongsavath Junior; parents, Bounkong and Vilay; brother, William (Candace) Vongsavath; mother of their only child, Latisha Bowman; cousins, Pam and Peter Nonthaveth; grandparents, Taeng and Bounthan Nonthaveth and Bounnong and Chantha Keovilaysone; and numerous other family members and friends. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Kane and Mok Baythongdy.
A Traditional Laos Service will be on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Family.
