Khalaya Blackmon

With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Khalaya Tarae Blackmon, a radiant and compassionate soul whose presence lit up every room she entered. Born in Delano to Kelbe Lampkins and Dewayne Blackmon, Khalaya's vibrant spirit quickly became of source of joy to all who knew her. At the age of two, she was lovingly adopted by her great-grandmother, Sue Sutton, who became her devoted mother and guiding light. Under Sue's nurturing care Khalaya blossomed into the creative force she was destined to be. When she turned twelve, her grandmother Vickie Sutton stepped in with unwavering love and strength continuing to raise Khalaya into the remarkable young woman she became.
Throughout her life Khalaya was surrounded by a village of love-her great aunt and uncle Veronique and Eric Hayes, her beloved Wynette Norwood, her uncles and her aunties Deshawn and Alysia Banks-Dana, Darren and Brandy King-each of whom poured into her life guidance, laughter and support. Though she departed, Khalaya leaves behind two baby cousins who held a special place in her heart, Phoenix Dana and Preslie King. Their bond was pure and her love for them remains ever present.
A graduate of Lake Elsinore High School, Khalaya begin sharing her artistic gifts early, revealing a soul that saw the world through compassion and color. She was a gifted makeup artist, illustrator and photographer. Her work wasn't just art, it was a reflection of her spirit. Known as a "fairy to the world" Khalaya transformed faces and stories and lived in hues most people only dream of. She had a rare ability to help others see their own beauty. Her smile, gentleness, and vibrant energy will be remembered always.
She is deeply missed by her mother Kelbe Lampkins, her father Dewayne Blackmon, her adopted mother, Sue Sutton, her grandmother, Vickie Sutton, and her siblings; Kaleb Blackmon, Kayla Carter, Devin Davis, Khaton Davis, and Marcus Jr Davis, along with a host of extended family and cherished friends. Her love for them was unwavering and her bond with them remains eternal.
