Khoun Keophet

A Traditional Service for Khoun and Phouthy Keophet will take place on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Noon at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.
Phouthy Keophet was born on August 7th, 1960, in Pakse, Laos. She was the fourth child to her father Ang Diduangleuth and mother Heaung Thongdara.
Phouthy is preceded in death by her parents Ang Diduangleuth and Heaung Thongdara. She was survived by her husband Khoun Keophet until his unfortunate passing on January 21, 2024.
She immigrated to the United States, landing in Amarillo, Texas, in 1980 with her mother Heaung and sisters Khamsaone and Syamphone. She married her husband Khoun Keophet on April 16, 1983. She was the beacon of love, strength, and compassion. She was a nurturing presence. She was selflessly dedicated to the well-being and happiness of her husband and children. Her love knew no bounds, and she tirelessly worked to create a warm and supportive environment for her family. Her love was so generous that it also extended to her many nieces and nephews. You would often find her home filled to the brim with her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, along with all their friends. She was a wonderful friend to those around her in the community and at work. Above all, she leaves an indelible mark on her children and grandchildren, shaping them into caring, confident individuals who carry her love with them always. Her love will be irreplaceable.
Khoun Keophet was born on June 9, 1953, in Pakse, Laos. He was the only child to Bualon Phongasa (mother).
Khoun is preceded in death by his wife Phouthy Keophet and mother Bualon Phongasa.
Khoun was a caring, supportive, and dedicated to the well-being and happiness of his wife, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. His love and devotion to his wife, Phouthy, withstood the test of time. His actions spoke of his love and how much he truly loved her. He would have done anything for her, which he did until the very end. His charismatic personality lit up any room he walked into. You couldn't help but look at him and smile because he was so full of life. He led by example, demonstrating kindness, respect, hard work and understanding. A wonderful dad who created a nurturing and positive environment for his children and grandchildren to grow and thrive. His love and support had a lasting and profound impact on everyone who knew him. He was endearingly close to each his children and grandchildren. He's worked so hard to make sure his family was taken care of. His way of showing love was through fun conversations and food. He was the coolest Dad ever. His love will be irreplaceable.
These two are now on their final journey to be together in heaven. Their story will live on forever in the lives of their children, grandchildren, and everyone that knew them. It is our hope that we all can be together one day, but we will continue to live our lives with all the great memories that you have given us. We will cherish the precious moments that we all have had with both.
Khoun and Phouthy remain survived by their four children Nikki, Alex (Tammi), Becky, and Jackie Keophet. They leave behind three beautiful grandsons Xander, Xavier, and Xyler Keophet. Phouthy has surviving siblings throughout the world. In Paris, France she leaves behind her older brother Khamsing (Jeanne) Thongdara, older sister Sybounheaung (Khamseng) Thongdara and brother Saly Thongdara in Bangkok Thailand. She also leaves behind her younger sisters Khamsaone (Sombath) Thongdara and Syamphone Thongdara in the United States. Khoun and Phouthy also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews Bona (Candy and Ellie), Boni, Amy, Brandy (Nathan), Keeta (Michael, Jayson, and Onesty), Allen (Ashad and Avery), Tommy, Billy, and Kong.
