Khyri Bakari Bright, a beloved son and cherished brother, was born on November 14, 2006, in Oakland, California. He left this world far too soon on September 30, 2025, at the age of 18. Khyri brought a light into the lives of those around him with his caring, charismatic, loving, and loyal personality.
Khyri was a proud product of Chesterfield Public Schools, where he embraced learning and made lasting friendships. His passion for sports shone brightly; he found joy in fishing, playing football, and basketball, activities that not only showcased his athletic talents but also brought together many of his friends and family.
Khyri is deeply missed by his loving family, which includes his mother Tamia and father Jovaughn Bright. He is survived by his beloved sister Kyla Bright and his two brothers, Khalil Kennard (Natasha) and Keiondre Wharfield Bright. His legacy continues through his paternal grandmother, Kuumba Tendaji, and paternal grandfather, Hakim Tendaji, along with his paternal grandmother, Paralee Jones-Bright. Khyri's family extends to a wide network of seven aunts, seven uncles, and three nephews, whom he adored. He had a special bond with a host of cousins and friends who will forever cherish the memories they created with him.
Although Khyri lost his paternal grandfather, William Bright, he carried the spirit of love and support that was instilled in him by all those around him. Khyri's warmth, vibrant energy, and unwavering loyalty touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him. His memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration for his family and friends.
