Kiana A. Petersen passed away at home in Wildomar, CA, on December 9th, 2025, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 39.

Kiana was born in Port Angeles, WA in 1986. She grew up in Washington State and Hawaii, graduating from McKinley High School, Honolulu, HI in 2005. She attended the Art Institute of San Diego and in 2008 graduated with a degree in Media Arts and Animation. For the next few years, she worked in several major studios; she worked on blockbuster movies such as Iron Man 3, Pacific Rim, and The Wolverine.

In 2010 she met the love of her life, Michael, and they married in a beautiful beach wedding in Waimanalo, Hawaii in 2014.

Kiana and Michael enjoyed movies, gaming, hosting large gatherings and holiday parties, and long walks with their large and loyal dog Anubis. She had a strong interest in geology.

Kiana loved art from birth and worked hard to become an accomplished artist. She hosted her work at several art shows, currently featured at Brand XTR, in Temecula.

Kiana is survived by her husband of 11 years, Michael Framstead, her father Craig and his wife Meilin, brother Caelan and wife Natasha, her mother Camela, many relatives, and many friends.

Kiana will be remembered for the unlimited smiles she brought to people and for her kind heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 21, 2026 in Wildomar, CA.
