Kiare Thomas Auston, was born on June 10, 2002, in Pittsburgh, PA, to his devoted parents, Kita Griffin and Darius Auston. From an early age, "Ki" as he was fondly known , radiated a joyful, curious spirit that touched everyone he met. He was raised in a close -knit, loving family where his sense of humor, compassion, and adventurous nature quickly became the hallmarks of his personality. He attended Colfax Academy and later graduated from Propel Braddock Hills High School in 2020, where he formed lasting friendships and left a lasting impression on classmates and teachers alike. Hardworking and dependable, Ki took great pride in his role as an employee at the University of Pittsburgh. His colleagues knew him as someone who showed up with a smile, gave his best effort, and could always be counted on for a laugh or a helping hand. More than anything, Ki was known for his ability to bring light into any room. His sharp wit and playful sense of humor made him a source of constant laughter for his family and friends. Whether it was a quick joke, a funny story, or simply his presence, Ki had a natural gift for lifting spirits and making people feel welcome. Ki was a deeply loving son, a loyal brother, a caring uncle, and a devoted friend. He found joy in the simple things -spending time with loved ones, sharing stories, and making memories. His love for animals was also a defining part of who he was. He had a special bond with his beloved bearded dragon, Kareem, who brought him great joy and companionship. A natural adventurer at heart, Ki developed a deep love for travelling at a young age. His many trips with his mother opened his eyes to the world and planted the seeds of curiosity, courage, and exploration that stayed with him throughout his life. He also demonstrated remarkable discipline and focus, earning a black belt in the International Tang Soo Do Federation, a reflection of his inner strength and commitment to personal growth. Ki's time on Earth, while far too brief, was rich in love, laughter, and meaning. Ki departed this life on September 10, 2025. He was preceded in death by his cherished grandmothers, Ruth Wida Griffin and Debbie Auston, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms. Left to carry on his memory and celebrate his life are his loving parents, Kita Griffin and Darius Auston; his brothers, Darius Auston Adams, Trevon Haynes, and Xander Dunlap; his sisters, Dariana Hobdy -Auston and Dariona Hobdy -Auston; and a host of extended family members, close friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that Ki's spirit will live on in the laughter he shared, the lives he touched, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always cherished.
