Kierra Lindo Obituary

Visit the Highland Funeral Home and Memory Gardens website to view the full obituary.

Kierra Denise Lindo was born August 2, 1999 at Arnold Palmer hospital downtown Orlando. Kierra left behind her Sister Khadijah Lindo, her Mom Roxanne Lindo, her Dad Patrick Lindo and many other family members.

Kierra was diagnosed with Sickle Anemia at birth which caused excruciating pain throughout her body, requiring many hospital visits, needles and many blood transfusions. Even though Kierra lived in pain daily she did not let Sickle Cell stop her from working and achieve her goal of getting an Associate Degree as a Medical Assistant at Florida Career College.

She worked at Apopka Family Health at Hunt club medical centers as a Medical Assistant and Advent Health hospital in Apopka as a food custodian. She was living her dream working in the medical field, and many other jobs, this was her way of giving back while supporting patients in need. Kierra never liked anyone saying she cannot do something, she will always prove us wrong even if it's working for a short period of time. She is resilient, when she puts her mind towards a goal, she gets it done.

She enjoys going to concerts, pumpkin farms and getting her favorite food, fried shrimp. She also enjoyed going to the mall with her sister, she loves smelling good, so perfume was always on her list of purchases. Kierra was also a dancer at Nulook dance studio during her earlier years. She and her sister made many dance videos as she loved music as much as dancing. Kierra always looked forward to the Annual Strawberry festival and getting a funnel cake. Her favorite collectibles were crocs and towards her later years she really enjoyed expressing herself through her wardrobe, specifically through SHEIN.

She always spoke on how she wanted to pursue her own Sickle Cell clothing line to help organizations. She knew her body couldn't handle working long hours but taking the leap of faith towards entrepreneurship would've been her next endeavor. Most of all Kierra's goal is to continue building awareness for Sickle Cell Disease which plagues the black community, make doctors and nurses more knowledgeable and find a cure for the disease.
