PEMBROKE – Kim E. (Riedel) Bower, 66, of Pembroke, departed this life peacefully, surrounded by her devoted family, following a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover.
She was born on August 16, 1959, in Tiffin, Ohio, the cherished daughter of the late Donald E. and Shirley M. (Hummel) Riedel. Kim was raised in Sycamore, Ohio, and became a proud graduate of Sycamore High School in 1977. She subsequently earned her associate degree in Fashion Merchandising in 1979 in Toledo, Ohio.
In 1977 Kim met the love of her life, Terry D. Bower; they married in 1980 and celebrated 45 remarkable years together. In 1986, she relocated to New Hampshire with her husband and family.
Kim held managerial positions in various retail establishments. She then dedicated 22 years of her life to Hallmark in Hooksett, NH where she worked part-time and was able to do her most cherished and fulfilling job as a mother to her three beloved children. Kim epitomized the essence of a soccer mom, faithfully attending all her children's games and enthusiastically cheering them on. As her children matured, she embraced the delightful role of grandmother, relishing every moment spent with her grandchildren whenever the opportunity arose. Whether it was cheering on her grandsons on the field or watching her granddaughters perform at school concerts. Kim also found joy in nurturing her garden and feeding the ducks that frequented the pond in her yard. She was an avid supporter of the Patriots and loved watching football. Kim will be fondly remembered as a humorous, optimistic, affectionate, determined and stubborn woman.
In addition to her husband, Terry, she is survived by her children: Ashley (Riel) Bower of Danbury, NH; Dru Tatro and her husband, Adam, of Epsom, NH; and Logan Bower and his husband, Kyle, of Wakefield, NH. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Braelyn, Iris, Greta, Noah, Darby, and Colton; as well as her brothers, Donald "Tony" Riedel and his wife, Jane, of New Boston, NH, and Mark Riedel and his wife, Connie, of Epsom, NH; and her beloved granddog, Luc-a-bear.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 4:00-8:00PM at the Pembroke Pines Country Club, 45A Whittemore Rd, Pembroke, NH 03275. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Kim's memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 2101 Rosecrans Ave, Suite 3200, El Segundo, CA 90245 or online at https://pancan.org/honormemorial-gifts/.
