In Loving Memory of Kim Brindamour
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce that Kim Brindamour went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Kim was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. His departure has left us with countless cherished memories and a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Born on September 8, 1949, to Mary and the late Jean Brindamour, Kim grew up in a loving household alongside four brothers and a sister - Roy (Jill), Danny (Nancy), Gregg, and the late Jean (Sharon) and the late Denise (Ken). From an early age, it was evident that Kim possessed a remarkable spirit that would shape his future endeavors. He is survived by several nieces and nephews who were fortunate to have him as their uncle.
After graduating from Belleville High School in 1967, Kim bravely chose to serve his country in the US Navy. From 1968 to 1972, he was stationed aboard the USS Forrestal, dedicating himself to the protection and freedom of his fellow Americans. It was during this time that Kim cultivated virtues of discipline, perseverance, and dedication that would guide him throughout his life.
Following his honorable service, Kim embarked on a remarkable career at General Motors, where he worked for 34 years. He poured his heart and soul into his work, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Kim's unwavering commitment and strong work ethic were a testament to his character and values.
However, Kim's most treasured role in life was that of a loving family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bette, his daughter Renee, and his grandson, Hunter McKeen, who was his pride and joy. Kim's devotion to his family knew no bounds, and he always prioritized their happiness and well-being above all else. His selflessness and love will forever be etched in their hearts.
When he wasn't focused on his family or work, Kim found solace and joy in playing golf and watching sports. He also cherished the serene moments he spent in Arizona following his retirement from General Motors in 2006. These moments allowed him to appreciate life's simple pleasures and bask in the beauty of his surroundings.
Those fortunate enough to have known Kim will forever remember him as a kind, loving, and genuinely friendly man. He radiated warmth, compassion, and humility in every interaction, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of those he encountered. Kim's presence brought comfort, his words brought encouragement, and his actions spoke volumes of his character.
During this time of sorrow, let us unite to commemorate the extraordinary life of Kim Brindamour. A celebration of life is scheduled to take place at the Raisin Valley Friends Church on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 11:00 am with Pastor Doug Chandler officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11:00 am. After the service, Kim will receive full military honors at 2:30 pm at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in
Holly, Michigan, where he will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home.
His memory will forever be a source of inspiration, reminding us of the importance of love, family, and selflessness. Though he may no longer be with us in physical form, his spirit will continue to guide and watch over us, providing support and strength in our times of need.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Kim. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
