Kim Lewis Charleston, age 72, passed peacefully on July 2, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Kim was born July 19, 1952, in York, PA, and graduated from York High School in 1970. Following high school, Kim enlisted in the Air National Guard. He devoted 29 years to the service of our country as an E-7 Master Sergeant in the 193rd Special Operations Division. He was a fierce patriot who served with honor, and loved his country deeply. When his four children were young, Kim was involved with the Boys Club of York organization, serving as a coach for their multiple youth sports. He was also a member of the Victory Club in York and an avid hunter and fisherman. In his spare time, you could find him cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Dallas Cowboys.
More than anything, Kim loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Kathy Charleston, and his four children: Chris (Liz) Charleston of Dover, Kirby (Charity) Charleston of York, Ryan Charleston of York, and Whitney (TJ) Morrison of Lewisberry, along with 12 grandchildren.
Kim was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Doris Charleston.
Keffer Funeral Home, 902 Mount Rose Ave, York, PA, is handling private services.

I carpooled and served proudly with Kim for many years at the 193rd Special Operations Wing. He was not only my coworker but a good friend as well. I remember Kim as a gentle person and a hard worker and very proud to serve his country. He also had a great sense of humor, always having a joke for us in the carpool on the way home practically every evening. Although Kim and I lost touch with each other over the years, I will miss him greatly. Rest in peace my friend.
