Joan J. Zielinski

Joan J. Zielinski, 91, entered into rest Thursday July 31, 2025 at Misericordia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of Bernard B. Zielinski (Ben) and recently celebrated their 70th anniversary.

Joan was born October 14, 1933 in Larksville, PA, a daughter of the late Edward and Veronica (Arabinick) Mrochko. She was a graduate of Millersville University and was employed as a teacher of special needs children for LIU #12 for 25 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, White Rose Polka Dancers, the Columbiettes of St. Rose Church, and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Alumni.

Joan was preceded in death by brothers Thomas and Edward Mrochko, and grandson Jake Zielinski. In addition to her husband she is survived by sons Bernard B. Zielinski, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Paul E. Zielinski and his wife Shirley, and John P. Zielinski and his wife Christine. She is also survived by her sister, Laureen Sabol, and grandchildren Rachel, Andrew, Paul Jr., Michael, Julia, Laura, and Erica, as well as great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extraordinarily special loving friends. Joan's kindness, patience, and compassion were shared through her relationships as spouse, sister, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend. She will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be 10-11 a.m. August 16 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Rd. York, PA. The memorial mass will begin at 11 a.m. at the church. Private interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., East York, is assisting with the arrangements.
