Mr. Kim S. Dyess, 87, of Andalusia, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025 at Andalusia Manor.
Mr. Dyess was born in Troy, AL on September 8, 1937 to Toy K. Dyess and Viola King Dyess. He married Eleanor Greathouse and the two spent their work lives in the field of education. He was principal at East Three Notch Elementary School and was most known for being the Andalusia Middle School Principal for many years. Following his AMS Principal role, he worked in the central office of the Andalusia City Schools before his retirement. He was also the Adult's Education Coordinator.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, September 7th at First Baptist Church with Dr. Kevin Wilburn officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM Sunday at the church. The interment will follow in Adellum Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Tammy Dyess of Deatsville, AL; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Daniel Bulger of Florala; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and his twin brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth K. and LaVondra Dyess of Montgomery.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Greathouse Dyess and son, Steve Dyess.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Davis, Christopher Roberts, Toy Dyess, Zachery Roberts, Lucas Dyess, Joel Dyess, and Matthew Dyess.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremiah Alford and Shaun Dyess.
