Kim, our loving mother and beloved wife of our late father, Buck Heng Lee, passed away at the age of 89, on May 20, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories. She was preceded in death by her parents and her three siblings.
Our mother had a profound love for the simplicity and goodness of life. She was a very devoted wife to our father and a doting mother. In the heart of her home, she effortlessly crafted culinary delights drawn from a rich tapestry of traditions and recipes, lovingly passed down through our family and shared by the remarkable women who graced her life. She was a wonderful friend to her neighbors and colleagues, and much loved by the community who knew her.
Despite starting school late, at the age of 12, she went on to speak three languages and discovered her calling in nursing. She embraced her role as a nurse and midwife with wholehearted dedication, caring for those in need and bringing new life into the world. Her love for children knew no bounds and in later years, she found immense joy in the company of her grandchildren.
In her spare time, she delighted in tending to flowers and plants in the garden and took simple pleasure in watching Chinese movies and entertainment.
She now lives in the hearts of her family; her daughters, Bennita and Cheryl, her son, Erik, along with her eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her spirit of devotion, humility and generosity will forever be treasured and deeply missed by our family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Our family will hold a private Celebration of Life for our mother in the month of June. We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers that have been shared with us during this time.
