Kim Marie Paulk, age 55 of Bronx New York entered into eternal rest on December 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Kim was born on February 7, 1969 to Bennie and Geneva Paulk in Bronx, New York. She grew up in a loving home with her parents, four siblings and fur-baby Gigi. She began her formal education at Saint Jerome Elementary School and later attended Cathedral High School. She went on to study criminal justice at John Jay College, where she consistently demonstrated a dedication to academic excellence earning a position on the dean's list. She graduated on February 1, 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree. After graduating, she started her 30 year career at the New York City Law Department. During that time she was promoted to Supervisor of the Appeals Division's Legal Support Unit. She was well revered by her colleagues who described her as having an exceptional work ethic, dedicated, devoted, professional, honest, well-liked, respected, unwaveringly extraordinary and very funny.
Kim was a sports enthusiast with basketball being her passion. She was voted MVP by her teammates while playing for the Bloodhounds, a NCAA division III School. Her favorite professional basketball teams were the New York Knicks and the New Jersey Nets who later became know as the Brooklyn Nets. She was a missionary who traveled to the Dominican Republic to help the Haitian community in need. She also enjoyed concerts, especially New Edition with her cousin Stephanie , traveling, reading and any reason to gather with family. She always had a bright smile, encouraging word, and always present when needed. Kim shared a close spiritual and familial relationship with her Cousin Melissa S. . Her faith was unwavering and she recently renewed her commitment to God.
Kim truly loved her family and would make a point to show and tell them exactly how much she loved and appreciated them. She often stepped in when as second mother to her nieces and nephews.She is survived by her parents, Bennie and Geneva Paulk; siblings Darryl (Tia) Paulk, Yasmeen Paulk, Fatima (Andre) Green and Ramel Paulk; nephews, Marquis, Darryl Jr., Daqon, Agyei and Alijah; nieces, Yasmeen, Rachelle and Annakiya; grand-nephews Devante ,Sincere and Shiloh ; grand-nieces Lauryn, Demi-Zoe; special cousin Stephanie M.; special friend Andrea D.; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 10:00am to 12:00 pm followed by Celebration of Life service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home located at 21 W. Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W. Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY.
