Kim Trana Obituary
Kim Trana, 68, of Staples, passed away on November 17, 2023. Services will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday November 28, 2023 at Motley Free Methodist Church with a visitation starting one hour prior.
Kim was born on October 10th 1955 in Staples, MN to Tom and Barbara (Modrow) Trana. He graduated from Staples High School in 1974. He worked as a manager for Staples High School sports programs after graduating, and later he worked for his cousin Mark Reger making clocks. Kim remained at his childhood home helping and taking care of his parents until their deaths in 2012. He was a gentle man with a very big heart. He enjoyed woodworking and made many birdhouses and feeders, toy boxes, kitchen sets, and decoys. Most of all, Kim loved his family, especially the little ones who all called him “Uncle Kimmy”. Kim’s favorite time was getting together with his loved ones. His face would just light up when anyone would come to visit.
Kim is survived by two sisters, Amber (Dale) Bartylla of Hewitt, Debra (Clyde) Mertens of Staples; brothers Thomas (Kathy) Trana of Gonvic, and Dennis (Mona) Trana of Staples; 12 nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews; and 8 great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece Dezerae Trana.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel of Staples.
