Kimberley Waynette Young, Age 57, of Clinton, SC passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on October 12, 2025 after her long battle with a Glioblastoma.
Born in Germany and raised in Kinards, she was the daughter of the late Billy Wayne Wyatt and Glennie Tinsley Walker. Kim received a full academic scholarship and graduated from Wofford Summa Cum Laude with a BS in English. She was a cheerleader and an active member in the Chorus and Drama department. From college she went into sales and marketing as a representative for Aveda. She transitioned from marketing into her dream career as a Cosmetologist. She used her creativity and God given talents of a servant’s heart to serve her clients that were very dear and precious to her.
She attended First Baptist Church in Clinton where she was active in the children’s and youth ministries.
She is survived by her mother Glennie T. Walker of Kinards, a sister Pamela Snelgrove of Mauldin and 2 Nephews Grayson Snelgrove (Chiago Il.), and Hayden Snelgrove (Mauldin), a stepbrother Robert Walker of Columbia, her soulmate and former husband Reese Young and a multitude of close friends that are considered her extended family.
Kim was a bright light to everyone who knew her. Her smile lit up any room. She was always more concerned about the people around her than she was herself. Her favorite question to everyone was “are you ok?” and she really meant that! She was loved and cherished by many, and she loved everyone. She was very passionate about music, animals and gardening. I believe Kim would want to say to each of you that cancer is horrible, and brain tumors and illness rob us of precious things most people take for granted. We can never have enough time with our loved ones. She would say Love each other even through your differences, take care of each other, even when it is not convenient, spend time with each other because precious memories will see you through the hardest of times.
A Celebration of Kim’s life will be held on October 23, 2025 at 3pm at the Gray Funeral home Chapel of Clinton with Rev. Dr. Blake Harwell and Rev. Sam Cox officiating.
