Kimberly Ann (Alexander) Blagg, 57, of
Haysville, Kansas, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother was called Home in the early hours of Monday, January 16, 2023. Kim was continually surrounded by family until she passed. Born in
Newton, Kansas on September 9, 1965, she grew up with one younger sister, would gain three additional sisters through marriage, and later in life learn of a fourth sister and two brothers whom she was overjoyed to welcome into her family.
She attended South High School but became a single mother at the age of eighteen, so she opted to get her GED and pursue a career in cosmetology to support herself and her daughter, Tiffany. While she loved giving perms to "little old ladies," she never quite enjoyed haircuts, so she decided to try something new and found work in an aircraft plant, Leonard's Metals. She was working there when she met the love of her life, Rob. They shared many interests such as the lake, camping, and the drag races, which was their first group date. Like Kim, Rob was a single parent to a daughter, Cassandra, but on July 29, 1995, Rob and Kim were married and the four of them became a family. In the summer of 2000, they would welcome a son, Dakota, to complete their family. Kim did not work outside the home while Dakota was little, but as he entered school full time she missed working. It was then that she discovered her true calling of working with children as a Special Education Para. Always a people person, she made long lasting relationships with both students and staff, even being recognized by the district with a Star Polisher Award. Throughout her time in the Haysville School District she worked for four elementary schools.
She loved being an active member in her community. She could often be found at car shows, festivals, concerts, craft shows, or simply at home reading a book and cooking. She will forever be remembered for her sense of humor, generosity, care-free disposition, but above all, how deeply she loved her family.
She is preceded in death by her adoptive father Merle Alexander, grandmother Ruth Marsalis, uncle Gary Marsalis, biological father Larry Lien, and longtime stepfather Larry Glenn. She is survived by her mother Carol Glenn, husband Rob Blagg, children Tiffany Little (Tyler), Cassandra (Jeffrey), and Dakota; grandchildren Tyler, Kaiden, Kinsley, Olivia, Serenity, Se'Anna, Jerry, Calla, Haley, and Olivea; sisters Carrie (Josh) Hood, Tracee Meents, Christy (Larry) Clark, Crysti (Scott) May, Jenny Montgomery, Randy (Candace) Beesley, Joey Beesley; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Haysville Christian Church, Haysville, Ks on Saturday, January 28, 2023, by Pastor Kurt Henson. Lunch will follow at the New China Buffet. The family suggest that memorials may be made to the
American Heart Association.
