In loving memory, we celebrate the life of Kimberly Millender, born on November 9, 1959, in
Talladega, Alabama, to George Millender, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Johnson Millender. As Ms. Millender traveled this sixty-five-year life journey, she became a member of Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church and once moving to Madison, she attended House of Hope and Restoration. She received her formal education while residing in Flint, Michigan at Northern High School. She soon joined the workforce working various jobs including Palm Beach, Tyson Food, Master Brand Cabinets, and her last being in environmental services at Honda Manufacturing of Alabama. From her early years, it was evident that Kimberly possessed a remarkable spirit and a steadfast commitment to caring for others, especially her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Ms. Millender was a very well-known in her Knoxville Community with family and friends as "Sexy Black". She was known as a "woman of entertainment" always keeping you laughing and making sure she stood behind her family. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking a "Mean Omelet" for before her health failed. In honoring Kimberly's memory, may we always remember the significance of kindness, empathy, and the enduring impact that a caring heart can have on the lives of others. Kimberly's footsteps will forever be etched in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to guide us as we navigate through the journey of life. Kimberly's warm presence and infectious laughter brightened the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. After a fulfilling and vibrant journey of 65 years, Ms. Kimberly Millender transitioned to her eternal rest on August 26, 2025, in Madison, Alabama, with her loving family at her side, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, laughter, and community spirit. She now joins hands with her loved ones who preceded her in death: her parents, George and Dorothy Millender, daughter, Shatoya Millender, brother, Bruce Millender, sisters, Doris Rodriguez, Carrie Brandon, and Mary Elizabeth Millender, and nephew Dontrell "Fatman" Hickman. Kimberly leaves to treasure her fun memories her loving and devoted son, Kejah (LaKisha) Millender; two brothers, Minister George (Gail) Millender, Jr. and Anthony (April) Millender; three sisters, Elder Henrietta (John D.) Lawler, Minister Beverly Towns, and Dianna Millender; grandchildren, Nolen G. Millender, Nyla E. Millender, and Makaiyah A. Smith; bonus grandchildren, Kedrian Koger, William Johnson, and Marshea McCluney Grant; special great-nephew, Vydre Millender; aunt, Millicent McKenzie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. As we reflect on Kimberly's remarkable journey, let us honor her memory by embracing the values she embodied-kindness, laughter, and caring for each other with grace. Her presence will forever illuminate our hearts, guiding us through the journey of life. Rest in peace, dear Kimberly; your footsteps are forever embedded in our memories, and your spirit shall guide us always.
