Kimberly, age 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Silverstone Memory Care in Grand Chute. She was born on September 8, 1958 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Marlene (Coy) Smith.
Kim, as she was known to friends and family, was a dedicated, long-time employee, retiring after many years from ThedaCare and having also worked for JC Penney. She was a woman of strong will and fierce independence, which she carried into her cherished passions: spending time with her family, getting competitive over board games, and the thrilling hunt of antiquing. She deeply treasured animals and nature, always enjoying the quiet beauty of bird-watching from her window.
Her unique soul and spirit were irreplaceable in this world, but her greatest and most enduring love was for her only son, Michael. She formed treasured, lifelong friendships with coworkers at both JC Penney in Fond du Lac and at ThedaCare and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Kimberly is survived by her beloved son, Michael Roeseler; her father, Eugene (Lucille) Smith; and her brother, Ricky Smith. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marlene Smith; and her brother, Kerry Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Fox Valley Humane Association as a tribute to Kimberly’s great love for animals.
Funeral and memorial services are still being determined at this time. Please check back frequently for updates.
Kimberly’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Silverstone Memory Care and Moments Hospice Care for their exceptional compassion and care.
