Mrs. Kimberly Alice Singletary Cauthen-Wright, daughter of Lola Singletary and the late Jerome Singletary was born September 1, 1973 in Florence, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, South Carolina.

She received her formal education in the Florence County Public School System, graduating from Wilson High School Class of 1991 and Florence-Darlington Technical College – cum laude in 1994 with a degree in Early Childhood Development. While in high school, Kimberely was employed with Piggly Wiggly of Florence, South Carolina.

Kimberly started her Christian journey at Bethel Apostolic Church of Florence, South Carolin, under the leadership of Bishop Ulysses McCall and later joined Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Florence, South Carolina, under the leadership of now Bishop Julius Harrison McAllister, Sr. She served in many capacities of the church such as: a member of the Girl Scouts, Youth Usher Board, Young People Department (YPD) of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Youth Choir and Sunday School. She later joined the Adult Usher Board and Gospel Choir.

On April 9, 2011, she married Demetric Cauthen then later married Calvin Wright on October 9, 2021 and relocated to Sumter, South Carolina.

Kimberly worked for McLeod Child Development Center of Florence, South Carolina and later with Cradle to Crayon Childcare Center of Florence, South Carolina

In addition to her father, Jerome Singletary, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Luther and Alice Brown; her maternal grandfather, Johnnie Hayes, Sr.; a niece, Banita Singletary; and a cousin, Calvin Whitfield.

Those who are left to cherish Kimberly’s precious memories are: her husband, Calvin Wright of the home; her mother, Lola Singletary of Florence, South Carolina; a brother, Timothy Singletary of Florence, South Carolina; her maternal grandmother, Mary Hayes of Florence, South Carolina; five aunts, Wanda Hannibal of Hempstead, New York, Jeannette Hayes-Leaf, Judy Brown, Marie Nettles and Linda (Cleo) Young all of Florence, South Carolina; one uncle, Johnnie Hayes, Jr.; one sister-in-law, Roslyn Suitt of Darlington, South Carolina; three nephews, Marquis Suitt of Darlington, South Carolina, Jayveon Singletary of Florence, South Carolina and Derrionta Shymeer Hickson of Sumter, South Carolina; a godfather, Levander Goodson of Darlington, South Carolina; five special friends, Yolanda Mitchell and Miriam Phillups both of Florence, South Carolina, LaToya Owens of Atlanta, Georgia, Rhoda Washington of Ehthardt, South Carolina and Yvette Lowery of Fort Pierce, Florida; and a host of family, other relatives and friends. 

The family will receive friends 5 PM-7 PM daily at 124 Wilson Rd., Florence, SC.
