Marjorie Bird Wright passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, January 22, 2026, the day after she fell and broke her hip. Up until the end Marge maintained her spunk, laughter, compassion, love for her family, friends and life.
Marge's life can best be described in these words: Family, Friends, Scrapbooking, Service,
Love of Nature, Food and Fun. In her almost 92 years of life with us, she experienced an
abundance of each.
Marge spent her early years living in
Provo, Utah with her wonderful parents, sister and 2
brothers. Marge and her sister Betty were 2 peas in a pod. They had their own language,
which they called "Pig Latin", and we never learned how to speak it, let alone understand it.
There was much laughter when they were together.
Marge met the love of her life, Von Wright while attending Provo High School. They were
married in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 28, 1953. After they were married, Von
had to go back to Germany where he was stationed in the U.S. Army. After 9 months, Marge
was able to join him in Germany, where she had many wonderful experiences. They moved
back to Provo Utah when Marge was pregnant with her first child. Together they raised 5
children and had a wonderful loving and adventurous marriage of almost 73 years. They
moved to
Orem, Utah where they have lived for 67 years.
Marge loved her family with all her heart. Her service to others was a priority in her life. Up
until the end she would bake bread, make a dessert, or take dinner to those in need. She was a great example of Christ like love as she served those around her. Scrap booking was her passion, and many benefited from her beautiful talent. She also loved going camping with her family and taught us the love of nature and the great outdoors.
Marge was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions, some of which included: Relief Society President, Primary President, a counselor in many presidencies and always served with a willing heart.
Marge is survived by her husband, Von C. Wright, son, Craig (Marie) Wright, daughter, Denise (Robert) Brown, son, Larry (Mindy) Wright, daughter, Colette Worthington, son, Brad (Tammy) Wright. Plus, 29 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
We would like to thank Inhabit Home Health Care and Hospice for taking such loving care of our mom. She loved you all.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 30th, at 10 AM. Located at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1450 South 800 East
Orem, Utah.
