Kimmie Peters Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heritage Cremation & Burial Society - Greater Canton Area on Mar. 31, 2026.
Kimmie K. Peters (Kim) of North Canton , Ohio joined the love of her life in heaven, passing peacefully at home on March 19, 2026.

Kim Peters was born August 14, 1947 to the late DeForest and Sylvia (Willaman) Karpp and was a proud resident of Greentown Ohio for her early years!

Kim graduated from North Canton Hoover High School in 1965 and then graduated from Aultman School of Nursing in 1968.

On June 15, 1968 Kim married her high school love, Mike Peters, sharing 57 years of marriage while raising their three boys.

She loved attending Hoover sporting events, especially her boys games. She was their biggest and loudest cheerleader.

Kim was kind, thoughtful and encouraging with a wit and wisdom that she expressed in her own unique way! These traits were perfect for a career in nursing that began in 1968 at American Red Cross and then Aultman Hospital working many midnights until she retired in 2009 from Aultman. She enjoyed working midnights and truly loved taking care of the newborn babies. From nursing school and over her entire career, she developed a very close knit, great group of friends that lasted a lifetime! She loved traveling and spending time with them at work and after retirement.

She is survived by sons Matthew (Tammy) of Liberty Twp Ohio, Scott of North Canton,Ohio and Christopher (Jody) of North Canton, Ohio. Grandchildren Corey (Caley), Ashley, Aaron, Carley, Nate and Alex. And her first great grand-daughter, Charleigh Mae.

She was proceeded in death by husband Mike Peters and her parents and in laws Joe Peters and Virginia Peters and her first grandchild Casey Michael Peters as well as brothers DeForest Jr, and Dale Karpp and sisters Betty Adams and DeErla Kirkwood.

In honoring Kim's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Cremation was entrusted to Heritage Cremation and Burial Society. A celebration of life will take place on May 3rd, 2026 from 2pm to 4pm at Greentown Athletic Club 9944 Cleveland Avenue NW, Uniontown Ohio 44685.
