Kip M. Jekel

Jekel, Kip M. – of Bolingbrook, Illinois, formerly of Birch Run, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Kip's life will be held at 3PM, Thursday August 21, 2025, at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 11AM until the time of service at 3PM. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Birch Run Township Fire Department.
Kip was born August 23, 1969, in Saginaw, Michigan to Mitchel Jekel and Arlene Wichert. A proud graduate of Birch Run High School, Kip took to life with enthusiasm. He had a special love for golf, often found on the course every weekend, where he reveled in the camaraderie and friendly competition that the game provided. His culinary talents shone through during his time working at Mt. Jacks in Chicago, where he delighted others with his cooking skills and culinary creativity. Kip was known for his adventurous spirit, enjoying the thrill of BMX biking in his younger years. He also had a fondness for gambling, and painting canvases. Each of these passions painted a picture of a man who lived life to the fullest and embraced every moment with enthusiasm.
Surviving are: Father, Mitchel (Deborah) Jekel; Sister, Cari Ann (Phil) Riley; Step sisters: Heather (Curt) Puszykowski and Heidi Hulett; Nieces and nephews: Chelsea (Andrew) Stevenson, Hannah Riley, Remy Hulett, Ronan Hulett; Great nephews, Milo; Good friends, Dave Port and Ray Peters, and many other good friends and family. He was preceded in passing by his Mother, Arlene Brown.
