A graveside service for Kirk Kenneth Brodd, 74, will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Kirk was born on July 21, 1950, in Wahoo, Nebraska to Ken and Florence Brodd and passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, in Shreveport.
Kirk was a resident of Shreveport. He retired from Western Electric (Lucent Technologies) after a 30-year career. He caddied for Fran Quinn for three years during the Nike Tour. He was a big fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and loved watching sports, especially the Houston Astros.
Kirk is preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Florence Brodd; and brother, Brian Brodd. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Vicki Leckie; sister, Kathy Burnum and husband, John; nephew, Bradley Burnum; honorary children, Kyle and wife, Amie and their children, Ella Claire and Graham; Korie and her children, Christopher, Kaden, Camden, Kadence, and Coleman; lifetime friends and partners in crime, Danny English and wife, Cylvia, Tommy Poole and wife, Jan, and Philip Ropollo and wife, Brenda; and a long list of close, special friends.
Honoring Kirk as pallbearers will be Tyler Strother, Clinton Strother, Kaden Lee, Camden Lee, Christopher Lee, Rickey Young, and Kyle Leckie.
Kirk will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we will forever love and honor his memory.
