Kirk William Hartnett

Kirk William Hartnett, 74, "Captain Kirk, Pops, and Pop-Pop" of Indian Land, SC and formerly of Bellows Falls, VT took his last breath Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC. He was born on February 2, 1949 in Bellows Falls, VT, son of the late Chauncey Augustus Hartnett and Velma Vina Hartnett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mark and Gary Hartnett also of Bellows Falls, VT.
Kirk was a Metrology Sales Specialist for F.D. Hurka Metrology, Charlotte, NC. He took a lot of pride in his profession and enjoyed sharing stories from his days doing sales and service in the field. His personality and charisma helped him build a successful 30 year career as a traveling salesman.
Most people knew Kirk as the "life of the party". You could find him out dancing and partying it up with friends, usually surrounded by women, laughing, joking, and sharing his descriptive stories with all. He enjoyed sports, tailgating at the Panthers Stadium, and attending the games with his son.
Kirk loved fast cars and always owned a new car, from his 1966 Chevelle up to his latest pride and joy, a 2023 Corvette Stingray.
He is survived by his sons, Tyson Augustus Hartnett of Fort Mill, SC, Douglas Alan Hartnett and wife, Jen of Dalton, MA, grandchildren, Kaleb Augustus Hartnett and Mia Annabelle Hartnett of Fort Mill, SC, and Douglas Alexander Hartnett of Battle Creek, MI.
The family will hold a memorial service at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place, Fort Mill, SC on Saturday June 10, 2023 from 5PM to 7PM and a special Celebration of Life immediately following the service at Kingsley Apartments Clubhouse, 287 Textile Way, Fort Mill, SC until 9PM.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all of the Atrium and Hospice nurses, physicians, and staff, his beloved family and friends for their unwavering compassion and supportive care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice or the American Lung Association.
