Kirk Alonzo Powers Sr

Kirk Alonzo Powers, Sr., passed away on January 13, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by family and loved ones. Kirk was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Shirley Jean Powers, building a life rooted in love, family, and faith. Kirk found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially hunting, fishing, racing, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, a proud family man, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Deeply devoted to his family, he would do anything for those he loved. Kirk is survived by his wife, Shirley Jean Powers; his children, Daniel Powers and wife Margaret, William Powers and wife Anna Marie, and Kirk Alonzo Powers, Jr. and wife Marcia; his grandchildren, Christina Powers, Jordan Powers and wife Haley, Taylor Powers, Brooke Powers, and Noah Powers; and his great-grandchildren, Bryan Powers, Presley Rentz, Karson Powers, and Gemma Bergeron. He is also survived by his siblings, Ruth Monk and James "JC" Powers. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Andrew Powers and Rebecca Powers; and his siblings, Samuel "SA" Powers, Maude Wascom, Lena Mae Williams, Sophie Cash, Elma Ambrose, Sandra Cole, Lillian Barrett, Eva Pryor, Kenneth Powers, and Margaret Vick. Kirk Alonzo Powers, Sr., will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, strength, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside visitation at Roselawn Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, Friday, January 16, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the graveside service begins at 11:30 AM.
