Paul Richard "Snowman" Covington, born on April 16, 1952, in Walker, LA, passed away on January 18, 2026. He was a beloved father, brother, and grandfather who left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Richard was a true outdoorsman who found joy in hunting and fishing. He had a special bond with his rabbit dogs and loved spending time listening to them while out in the woods. Many of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by his family, creating memories that will be cherished forever. He will be deeply missed, not just for his love of the outdoors, but for his kind spirit and the laughter he brought into every room. As family and friends come together to celebrate his life, they will remember Richard as someone who brought warmth and love to everything he did. Richard is survived by his daughter, Renee Covington; and numerous grandchildren, including Brayden Covington, Haley Whetstine, Kyle Whetstine, Hunter Covington, Brantley Covington, and Dathen Cresie; his girlfriend, Joyce Cresie; and stepson, Deuce Cresie, and wife, Kristen. His world revolved around his cherished great-granddaughters, Callie Covington and Bailey Covington; his brother, Elgene Erwin, and wife, Deloris; and his sister, Debra Magee, and husband, Dennis. Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Covington; his son, Paul "Bubba" Covington; his brother, Joseph Covington; his father, Eldon Covington; his mother, Essie Covington; his sisters, Sherry Bass and Sylvia Thompson; and his granddaughter, Rebecca Cresie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Richard's visitation at Live Oak Baptist Church in Denham Springs, Friday, January 23, 2026, from 12:00 PM until funeral services begin at 2:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow in Vicker's Cemetery in Walker. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to BC Unity (Beat Cancer Unity) via Venmo @jason-holley-25. The family extends a special thank you to Daralene and Wade Tyler, BC Unity, FAL, KOS Bingo, all of our friends and family who have supported us during this time, and the Baton Rouge Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to McLin Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared at www.mclinfuneralhome.com
