Kiyo Nagata Bryan

Kiyo Nagata Bryan, 80, of Hubert NC, peacefully passed away on December 27, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 15, 1945 in Okinawa, Japan to the late Yuichi and Yoshi Nagata.

Kiyo was always a very happy person. She had such a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh. She loved going to church, gardening, dancing, sewing, "go shrimping", and traveling around the country. Most of all, she loved visiting with her friends and spending quality time with her family.

Kiyo is survived by her daughter, Kathaleen Slade (James) of Hubert; her son, Eugene Bryan (Karen Ipock) of New Bern; Stepdaughter, Lori Peoria (Tony) and Stepson, Ben Bryan of Rock Hill, SC; sister, Sumiko Mori (Shuzo) of Okinawa; two brothers, Zentoku Nagata and Yukichi Nagata (Hiroko) of Okinawa; "sista" Cindy Moore of King George, VA; and many other extra special extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Chiyo Nagata; and beloved husbands, Donnie Fauver and Benjamin Bryan.

The family will receive friends Thursday January 8, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home in Swansboro NC. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 9, 2026, 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church in Swansboro NC. Burial will follow at 12:00 PM at Coastal Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery, Montford Point, Jacksonville NC.
