Kody Robert Coats

Kody Robert Manning Coats, 31, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and formerly of Silex, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025. He was born on March 28, 1994 in Troy , MO. Kody was raised in Silex along with his sister, Kylie, and they were very close. He later graduated from Silex High School. After graduating, he joined the workforce and recently worked at Iron Axe Bar & Grill in Florida. Kody loved his job and the people he worked with. He lived his life to the fullest and was always up for an adventure. Kody always had a smile on his face, was the life of the party, and never met a stranger. He loved his motorcycle, but most of all loved his children. His family was very important to him , especially his children. He will be remembered lovingly by all those who knew him, and deeply missed by his family.

Surviving are his loving family members: his mom and dad, Christopher "Chris" and Stephanie Schmid-Carroll; his children: Kody Robert Manning Coats, Jr. also known as "KJ" and Alaihna Lea Coats; his sister, Kylie Coats; and his best friend and girlfriend, Amber Surber; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation scheduled from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone St., Troy, MO 63379, 636-528-8244.

A Funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025 at the funeral home in Troy. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Dement. Interment to follow in the Millcreek Cemetery, Silex.
