Kofi Frimpong Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carnes Funeral Home - Texas City on Mar. 30, 2026.
It is with overwhelming sadness that the family of Kofi Frimpong, (a.k.a K. Willie) announces his departure from this world. On Monday, March 16th, 2026, our beloved Kofi passed away at the age of 44.

Kofi was born on April 4, 1985, in Kumasi, Ghana to William Adu Mensah and Comfort Nyama. He grew up alongside his sister, Ellen, and many cousins. After graduating from Osie Tutu Secondary School in Kumasi, he obtained his Journeyman skills as a plumber through apprenticeship. He immigrated to Houston, Texas in September 2025 to fulfill his dreams of living abroad and building a better life for himself and his family. He worked as a mechanic in the Plant Operations department at HCA Mainland. Kofi was often described as kind, polite, thoughtful, and always willing to help. He treated everyone as a friend or brother. He was hard-working and loved his family dearly. He could come off as shy at first, but once he got to know you, you became his friend forever.

Kofi is preceded in death by his father, William Adu Mensah. His memory lives on in his sister, Ellen Adu Tuffour, his mother, Comfort Nyama, his partner Belinda, his four children, Akwasi, Abena Agyeiwaa, Maa Afua, and baby Willie-Mae, his uncles Dr. James Nkansah and Daniel Agyapong Binfoh, his aunts Vivian Nkansah, Eno Adwoa, and Bridget Binfoh, his cousins Albert Nkansah, Meagan Nkansah, Janae Nkansah, Eunice Acheampong, Frederick Frimpong, Stephen Binfoh, Thomas Anane-Frimpong, Pamela Binfoh, Ama Serwaa, Ama Asantewaa (Efe), and nieces Julia, Queeny Pearl, Mia, Mikaela, and Melany.

Kofi is also survived by many colleagues and friends, his dedication, kindness, and unwavering love of God and commitment to family will forever be remembered.
