Kora Jean Harris of Cambridge, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 74 years old. She was born on October 3, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, the youngest of 3 children, born to Frank and Ruth (Moede) Laszlo.
She received education and graduated from David Starr Jordan High School in Long Beach, California in 1968. Kora was introduced to Leslie LeRoy Harris by her sister (Karen) and it was love at first sight. Kora and Les were united in marriage in 1970 in Tustin, California.
Following their union of marriage, three children were born to them; Michael Conrad, Brad Leslie, and LeAnn Marie. The couple lived in Santa Ana, CA for several years where Michael and Brad were both born, before moving back to Cambridge, NE to help Les’ father on the farm and to raise their young family. Here Kora gave birth to their last born baby and only daughter LeAnn.
Kora worked various jobs from dishwashing to waitressing, to anything and everything in between that it takes to raise and support her family. She loved to be there to watch, cheer on, and support her kids and grandkids in all of their various endeavors: sports, extra-curricular activities, and any and all celebrations. She faithfully attended church with her family.
In her youth Kora loved to dance. She enjoyed art and drawing. She enjoyed playing solitaire, doing crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite shows including (“Murder She Wrote”). But more than these she loved her constant companion, her little dog Norton.
Kora was preceded in death by her husband Les, her parents and in-laws, her brother Ken and sister in-law Kathy and their two sons; Kenny and Keith.
Kora is survived by her two sons; Mike and Brad and her daughter LeAnn; their spouses and their children (Kaili and Austin, Rachel, Benjamin, Ruth, Rebekah, and Rose) and her great-grandchildren (Teagan and Treyzen). She is also survived by her sister Karen and her husband Don McDaniel of Huntington Beach, CA. As well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and many more family and friends.
Kora will always be remembered by her devotion and love for her family, her faith, her sense of humor, and always speaking her mind.
