Kory William Brueggemann

Kory William Brueggemann was born May 16, 1998 in Kirkwood, MO to Kenneth and Karen (nee' Steiner) Brueggemann. He passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 in Washington, MO at the age of 27 years.
Kory was born ready to move. A true athlete, sports fanatic, a gigantic heart, and goofy laugh with soccer plays and dance moves for days. He had the warmest ear to ear grin, a hug that fixed things, and a laugh that echoed contagiously in the house. Now, we look for him in songs, Blues games and at the bottom of a Bud heavy.
He remained kind and strong and resilient through things that could have made anyone cold and weak. But you see, that is just the kind of person Kory was. He didn't know any other way to be. He was humble (unless he was playing Call of Duty or playing basement hockey), kind and when you looked in his eyes, you saw his whole heart.
If love alone could have saved him, because this kid loved BIG, we have no doubt he'd still be here pulling someone into his antics for a laugh. Regardless, his love lingers in our heartbeats, our photographs, our memories, on pool tables, soccer fields and hockey rinks.
We'll always save you a seat, bubba. Love you forever and ever.
Kory was preceded in death by his grandfather, "Grumpy" Steiner and his grandmother, Glo Brueggemann.
He is survived by his father, Kenneth Brueggemann of Gerald; his mother, Karen Hedgecorth and husband Steve of Farmington; his grandmother, Kathy Steiner of Ballwin; grandfather, Robert Brueggemann of Gerald; three siblings: Kaycie Schulte and husband Alex of O'Fallon, Kortney Lympus and husband Kale of Wentzville, and Kullen Brueggemann of Washington; one nephew, Theodore Schulte; one niece, Stella Schulte; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Most Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eureka, MO with Rev. Joe Kempf officiating. Burial followed in the Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in St. Louis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas.
The Brueggemann family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington, MO.
