Kraig Lee, 70 of Wannaska, MN passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau from 5-7 pm with a Prayer Service at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Riverside Lutheran Church in Wannaska at 10 am with visitation one hr prior.
Kraig Leland Lee, of Wannaska, MN, passed away at Life Care Manor of Roseau, MN on December 8, 2024, after a series of medical issues, at the age of 70. Born on December 18, 1953, in Roseau, to Leland and Audrine Lee, he graduated from Roseau High School in 1972 and dedicated his life to farming. A member of Riverside Lutheran Church, he was baptized and confirmed there.
Kraig was deeply involved in his community, serving as the director of the Barley Board, a member of the Canola board, a longtime Grimstad Town board member, and a member of the Wannaska Lions Club. He married Bonnie Mekash in 1973, and together they built a loving family.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Stacie (Paul) Clark and Margo Lee; grandchildren Kendra, Kolton, Noah, and Alice Clark; nieces Shar Peterson, Natalie Olson, Nikki Ohnsorg, Karrie Rugland, Emily Summach, and Cierra Mekash; nephews Travis Hetteen, Mathew Edman, Andrew Edman, Austin Mekash, Allen Mekesh, Scott Mekash, and Tyler Mekash; brothers-in-law Robert Mekash, James Mekash, John Mekash, Mike Hetteen, and Mark Mekash; and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Edman (Dan), Anna Mekash (Robert), Bonnie Mekash (John), Janet Hetteen (Mike), and Shelly Mekash (Mark), and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leland and Audrine Lee; sister Sandra Lee; nephew Brad Olson; brother-in-law Mike Mekash; sister-in-law Mary Jo Mekash; father-in-law Emil Mekash; and mother-in-law Arlene Mekash.
Kraig's life was a testament to hard work, community service, and love for his family. His legacy will be cherished by all who knew him.
