Kris E. Benkovich

Kris Benkovich, age 51, of Lowell, IN. unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, November, 19, 2023. Kris is survived by his heartbroken wife, Pam of 30 years; daughter, Kristina (Weston); stepdaughter, Jill (Rick); stepsons, Tom and Jeremy (Jen); 8 adoring grandchildren, Charlie, Eleanor, James, Jayden, Allison, Jacob, Molly and Sami; loving brother-in-law, Dale (Joyce); 3 nephews and 2 nieces; 3 rescued dogs; along with many great friends and neighbors.
Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Burdan Funeral Home 12901 Wicker Ave. Cedar Lake, IN.
Kris lived an active lifestyle and thrived on adventures including skydiving and recently stair climbing the 105 stories of Willis Tower for charity. Kris had a passion for flipping houses and was currently flipping a home on Raccoon Lake where he and Pam planned to retire. When they were not perfecting every detail of their dream home, Kris and Pam spent their time hiking, boating, walking their dogs and watching the sunset on the lake. Kris enjoyed music, comedy and puzzles but his grandchildren were his favorite pastime! He loved their conversations about sports, school and finances but never passed up a game of catch, Sorry or Play-doh.
Kris was a graduate of Purdue University and employed many years at BP Refinery in Whiting, In.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his favorite charities; The Humane Society, 2x2 Rescue, and Meals on Wheels.
