Kris "Buddy" Alan Doud Jr., aged 38, of Munger, passed away tragically as a result of a car accident on June 7, 2025. Born on June 9, 1986, in Saginaw, MI, son of Kris Doud and the late Patricia (Zells) Doud. He grew up in Munger. Kris was a beacon of joy and laughter to all who knew him.
Kris was known for his tireless work ethic, having spent many years as a laborer and operator. In the last couple of years, he worked closely with Marc (Joy) Super at Marc Super Construction, where he was not only an employee but a right-hand man and a trusted colleague who became family. His dedication to his work was matched only by his dedication to his family and community.
A man of many interests, Kris was affectionately known as "Loud Doud" for his love of all things boisterous. He was the life of any party and a devoted husband and father who adored his family deeply. Always willing to lend a hand, Kris mentored many family members and friends in car mechanics and derby cars. His passion for derby car racing began in 2004, a hobby he shared with his father and brothers as they built cars together in their favorite spot, racing under the name Shade Tree Racing. His involvement with organizations such as USA Derby, TNT Derby, and Thunder Productions reflected his love for the sport and community.
Kris's generosity extended beyond the racetrack; he enjoyed volunteering at Bay City Academy school and cherished the simple pleasures of life, like having bonfires with friends and family. He took pride in his home, often mowing the lawn up to two times a week, and was passionate about his garden, especially growing sweet corn.
Kris is survived by his loving wife Connie, and his cherished children, Taylar Kosecki, Harlee Kilgore, and the light of his world, Grace Doud. He was a devoted son to his parents, Kris (Mary Lou) Doud. A beloved brother to Jodie (Glenn) Doud, Melissa Kischnick, Melanie (Dan) Kischnick, Ashley (Rob) Lester, Trenton (Janelle) Lindsey, Ron (Angie) Schultz, Chuck Schultz, Diana (Cheif) Kuch, and Kris Sampson. A treasured uncle to Justin, Nathan, Andrew, McKinley, Kyle, Devin, Abbie, Emma, Patty, Samantha, Lykon, Richie, Noah, Jacob, Levi, Jessica, Joey and Christopher. As well as many aunts, uncles, and great nieces and nephews. His extended family, including mother-in-law Karen McGraw, brother-in-law Doug Lipsky, and sister-in-law Michelle (Brady) Bodnar, along with nieces and nephews Bo, Jacob, Lukas, Alina, and Landon will remember him fondly, as will his many dear racing friends. He was predeceased by his mother Patricia Doud, his brother Robert "Bobby D" Doud and uncle Kevin Doud.
Those who knew Kris will remember him as loving, generous, and funny-a man whose laughter and kindness touched countless lives. His legacy of love, racing and service will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know him. Kris "Buddy" Alan Doud Jr.'s memory will be treasured forever by his family, friends, and all who were honored to call him a part of their lives.
