Krista M. Wilmink, age 63, of Covington, Kentucky, was called home to the Lord unexpectedly
on August 7, 2025, leaving her family and friends deeply heartbroken yet comforted by the
assurance of her eternal rest. A devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend, she
lived her life as a shining example of faith, compassion, and selflessness. Her capacity for love
was abundant, embodied so beautifully by her journey to adopt and mentor others.
She was a faithful member of Saint Pius X Parish for many years, attending Mass daily and
devoting herself wholly to her ministry of bringing Christ to others. Her trust in God’s plan was
unshakable, and she met life’s joys and challenges with grace and gratitude.
Krista’s greatest blessing was her family. She poured her heart into raising her children and
leading her family by faith filled example. She ensured that her home was a place of warmth,
laughter, and countless gatherings, where every person felt welcome and loved. Following the
passing of her mother, Krista surrendered herself fully to Christ and prayed daily to feel her
mother’s presence walking with her to lead the family. She cherished being an “auntie” and held
all the littles close to her heart.
Krista always answered the call. Whether it was a request for help or God’s call to serve, Krista
was there. She gave of her time, talents, and love throughout every moment of her life. She
instilled in everyone she met her joyful love of Christ and family. Krista believed that God gives
us opportunities at certain touchpoints throughout our lives and that if we surrender ourselves
fully to Jesus we will find peace. Her family is dedicated to continuing this journey in her
memory.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jane Summe. She is survived by her
Husband of 44 years, Jeff; her children, Nicholas, Noah (Jamie), Madeline, Nathan, and Teddie;
her siblings Danny (Peggy) Summe, Brian (Jennifer) Summe, Kurt (Jennifer) Summe, Sheila
(Scott) Cooney, Betsy (Gerry) Greenwell, Jennifer (Kevin) Long, Father Matthew Summe, Scott
(Karen) Summe, and Chad (Kristin) Summe. She is survived by 36 nieces and nephews, 7 great-
nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A Visitation will be held at St. Pius X Church in Edgewood, Kentucky on August 13, 2025 at
