Kristel Kamin Obituary

Born on June 4, 1934 in Chicago, IL, to Christian and Anna Emde, Kristel married Gerald L. Kamin, the love of her life, on October 1, 1954. Kristel was an accomplished seamstress, artist, crafter, quilter, gardener, and a wonderful cook. She enjoyed traveling with her family throughout the United States and abroad, particularly cruising. Kristel had a deep appreciation for music and musicals, attending everything from school performances to theater productions and outdoor musical events. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, after 59 years of marriage. She is survived by her loving children: Elizabeth Kamin, Laura (Jason) Hubbard, Jeffrey (Laureen) Kamin, and Linda (Dean) Pugel. Kristel was the cherished grandmother of the late Michael Molandro, Nicholas (Ashley) Molandro, Taylor (Eric) Koskie, Matthew Pugel, and Cristal (Chris) Kelly. She also leaves behind close family friends, Shash and Ginger Kudchadker and their family.
Visitation will be Friday, April 4, 4:00-8:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Routes 30 & 59, Plainfield. All are welcome to meet for the committal services on Saturday, April 5, 10:00 AM at Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien, IL.
