Kristen "Krissy" Veto passed away unexpectedly on March 25, 2024 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was only 34 years old. All those who loved her are deeply saddened by her loss.
Kristen was born on December 22, 1989 in Charleston, South Carolina, the beloved only child to Jill and Timothy Veto. She was a Christmas gift.
At 5 ½ years old Kristen and her mom relocated back to Jill's home of Wisconsin. She always missed her friends and home in Goose Creek, South Carolina. Upon returning from her first day of school, she informed her mother she did not plan on returning. That she did not like it, already knew her ABC's and could count, so there was no need. She was very upset to find out it was the law. Fortunately, she did return and graduated from Menomonee Falls High School in 2008.
Kristen started working at 14 years old and never stopped. She began in the dining department of The Arboretum retirement community. She was a favorite of all the surrogate grandparents she served. Then continued as a waitress and sometime management at Pizza Hut.
She was currently enrolled in an apprenticeship program through MATC and Cheveux Hair Salon of Brookfield, Wisconsin, for Cosmetology. Kristen would have graduated in two months. She often spoke of the impact a new hairdo had on people. Their gratitude and smiles meant the world to her. Although hair was Kristen's first love, she was incredibly creative. She loved her music, painting, crafts, crocheting, plants and animals, especially her beloved cats "Bear", "Scooter" and "Link".
Kristen was beautiful inside and out. Life was not always easy and she struggled at times. Always a compassionate, tender-hearted child with a bigger than life smile. She touched so many in her all too short life but will forever be remembered and in our hearts.
Kristen always had a special bond with the grandmother she adored, Gloria Mae Otto. Grandma visited South Carolina often and they spent a lot of time together over the years. It was hard for her to lose grandma, when she passed away in 2016. Also her Great aunt, Patricia Gagnon who passed this last February, but we know they were the first to greet Kristen with open arms in Heaven.
She is survived by her heart broken parents Jill and John Reynolds of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Step sisters, Megan (Chris) Henschel (nephews Jack and Eliott) of Manawa, Wisconsin and Adrienne (Jeff) Barnow of Boulder, Colorado. Her uncle "Mike" Krueger and family of Mukwonago, Wisconsin. The entire Reynolds family. Her cousins The Doberstein family of La Crosse, Wisconsin and The Soles family of Forest Lake, Minnesota. Her special Friend James Gallipeau of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and countless more family and friends.
The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time. Kristen so loved children and her animals. In lieu of flowers, donations to local animal shelters or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are requested.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 13th from 9:30-11:45 AM at St. Mary Parish, N89W16297 Cleveland Ave, Menomonee Falls. Eulogy at 11:45 AM followed by Mass at 12 PM.
