She was married to Kent Douglas Williams in California in 1983, they later divorced. Kristy loved dining with her family and many friends. She also enjoyed baking, doing crossword puzzles, and reading the Bible. She loved singing; affectionately known as the "Songbird of Burt Presbyterian Church", she attended and sang with many churches including the Nazarene Church and Faith Assembly of God as well.

Kristy Williams died Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at University Hospitals in Iowa City from battling liver disease for many years. She was 64.

She is survived by two sons and four grandchildren, Jon Menneke and his daughter Emelia of Wayne, NE, and Steven Williams and his wife Analise and their children, Clive, Finn, and Zeb of Bloomington, MN. She is also survived by her five siblings, Sharon, Roger, Daniel, Brenda, and Diane; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Ronnie.

Kris was a tremendous blessing to my life, and a great Christian sister and mentor to me as well. God literally answered a prayer of mine when He put it in her heart to call me and share a specific Word with me and more. She was a very faithful follower of Christ and a true and beloved friend.
