It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kurt Aaron Baskette, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 25, 2024, at the age of 44. Born on April 16, 1980, in Vancouver, BC, Kurt brought joy, kindness, and a bright spark of life to all who knew him.
Kurt was the cherished youngest son of Margaret Baskette of Washington, Indiana, and Brian Baskette of London, Ontario, both of whom predeceased him. He grew up in Richmond, BC, surrounded by family and friends, before moving to
Katy, Texas, in his late teens, where he spent the remainder of his life.
Kurt is survived by his brothers, John Baskette (Julie Anne) of London, Ontario and Eric Baskette (Shirlyn) of Richmond, BC, as well as his beloved nieces, Johanna and Jillian Baskette, of Richmond, BC. He was a proud uncle and a treasured friend to many.
Kurt's charismatic personality, infectious smile, and bright blue eyes made him unforgettable to all who met him. Known for his generosity of spirit and unwavering kindness, Kurt was the kind of person who would always make time for others. His inquisitive mind, thoughtfulness, and brilliance shone through in all that he did. Kurt enjoyed a long and successful career with JPMorgan Chase & Co., where his work ethic, intelligence, and collaborative spirit earned him the respect of his colleagues. Despite his professional accomplishments, it was his personal connections and compassion for others that truly defined him.
An animal lover at heart, Kurt cared deeply for the well-being of animals. In his memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to an animal
charity of your choice, reflecting his lifelong passion for helping those without a voice.
Though he faced many health challenges in recent years, Kurt's resilience and positivity were an inspiration to those around him. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his loved ones, who will miss him deeply.
