Kurt Nicholas Clees, a longtime member of the Carlton, Washington community, passed away on March 20, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and kindness. He was born on August 28, 1968, in Brewster, WA, to John Nicholas Clees and Lorraine Ethel (Wall) Clees. Kurt spent most of his life in Carlton, residing there for more than 45 years.
A graduate of Pateros High School, Kurt lived in various places including Montana, Monroe, and Sultan, Washington, for a decade before settling in Carlton. Kurt was a farmer, tending to the land with commitment. Additionally, he worked as a handyman, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Kurt had a variety of hobbies and interests, from his artistic pursuits in drawing to his mechanical ability in putting together small engines. He had a knack for woodworking, crafting beautiful furniture with his skilled hands. In his leisure time, he enjoyed snowmobiling, barbecuing, diving into a good book, and playing games. Kurt found strength and community through his membership at the Carlton Community Church.
Described as stubborn yet loving and caring, Kurt was someone who could always be relied upon. His memory will forever be cherished by his sons, Ayden and Brendan, as well as his sisters, Debra Bosworth of Mead, WA, and Natalie McCarty of Liberty Lake, WA. Kurt was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorraine Clees, and his grandparents, Robert and Bertha Wall.
A memorial service to celebrate Kurt's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Hennessey Valley Funeral Home, located at 1315 N. Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
